China is one of the fastest expanding trading nations in the world,
with GDP growth figures of around 9 percent per annum since the
mid-nineties. In 2004 total exports were worth £3.4bn.This makes
China the UK’s 17th largest export market.

In the past, doing business with China was seen as the preserve of
large international companies, now any size of company can
capitalise on this economic growth.83% of those who responded to a
recent survey by the Hay group indicated they see China as an
opportunity, not a threat. A similar percentage expect to be doing
business there within three years. Even more positive were the
two-thirds of leaders from large-scale businesses and 40 percent of
directors of smaller companies who see China as their greatest
opportunity.
This event will :
-
Look at what opportunities exist for those new to the region
-
Discuss how to build the right corporate image in China
-
Investigate the possible pitfalls and threats of doing business
-
Provide companies who are already active in the region with
further tools to continue their progress.
-
Put companies in touch with students/graduates who have the
right skills to support any initial investigations or further
business ventures
-
Teach you your first words of Mandarin
The seminar is aimed at SME’s who are about to enter the Chinese
